What are symptoms of Zika?
Fever
Arthralgia
Rash
Conjunctivitis
Couple are currently not pregnant.
What advice would you give about travel to a Zika area?
Women should avoid becoming pregnant while travelling to a country or area with risk for
Zika virus transmission.
If only the woman travelled - on returning to the UK, they should avoid becoming pregnant for a further 2 months by using barrier contraception
If both partners or just male travelled - avoid getting pregnant by using barrier contraception
for 3 months

Asking about being tested
What do you do?
If unwell - test now and convalescent testing
If well, and scan normal, just take blood for storage
Pregnant woman confirmed with infection with Zika
What should you do next?
Scan - if any abnormalities such as microcephaly, then conside amniocentesis and testing for zika
