When to suspect Dengue infection?

A

Travel to endemic Dengue country in last 14 days

Plus 2 or more clinical signs:
nausea/ vomiting
rash
arthralgia/ myalgia
leukopenia
positive tourniquet test - presence of petechiae

When to suspect severe Dengue infection?

A

Severe dengue is defined by dengue with any of the following symptoms: s

severe plasma leakage leading to shock or ARDS
severe bleeding - e.g melaena
severe organ impairment such as elevated transaminases ≥1,000 IU/L
impaired consciousness
