A

At the age of 14, he went and stayed for 3 years in Russia where he learned a lot about politics and the country. He was there to convince Russia that America was a legitimate country.

A

A

A

He was the Head of the House of Representatives at the time of this election, he was an alcoholic and he chased after women so he wan’t liked by many.

A

The Spanish were carrying a boat of slaves from Africa towards Spain, but some slaves broke out and demanded that they be taken to Africa.

What did the Spanish do about the slaves threatening them?

A

They tricked the slaves and actually pointed the ship towards South America where slavery was illegal instead of Africa. They ended up farther north where the American Navy stopped the ship.

What happened to the slaves of the Amistad Case?

A

A court meeting was made that eventually reached the Supreme Court, and Adams famously argued for the slaves and the slaves ended up being take back to Africa like they wanted, so they were free again.

A

A group of religious Scots connected to the great reformation.

What happened to Andrew Jackson during the war?

A

Jackson’s two brothers and mother both died. His mom told him to take care of widows and orphans on her death bed.

Who is Rachel Donelson?

A

Jackson met her and fell in love with her even though she was married. Her husband left her and Jackson famously marries her. Since there was never an official divorce, Rachel was officially married to two men which was illegal. This took 4 years to fix.

A

He regretted not killing Henry Clay, he did many bad things and got Andrew to lose his first election campaign.

A

The Redstick Indian Tribe slaughtered 400 people at Fort Mins. Jackson was assigned to kill those Redsticks but his army was inequipped. His troops wanted to leave, but he famously gave a speech and convinced them to stay.

A

He famously adopted a ton of children who were orphaned due to the Indians who killed their parents.

A

He became the 7th president.

What happened to Rachel Donelson during the Electoral Campaign?

A

She saw how bad the arguments were (Adams and Jackson accused eachother of bad things and Rachel was targeted) and fell sick soon after, she died very quickly. This left Andrew heartbroken and ‘without his compass.’

A

He removed a lot of the bad leaders from Washington DC.

A

He felt that they and the Indians couldn’t coexist. They were planning to move them West, but they actually did it when they found gold in Cherokee lands.

A

They didn’t want to leave and they famously brought a plea to the Supreme Court. They were denied.

A

They were to be moved anywhere past the Mississippi River, and they were taken there by the army by force.

A

The trip that the Cherokee took to the West, 4000 Cherokee peoples died on the trip.
