Why do people like to know about the private lives of famous people?

In my opinion I guess I would have to say that there are a number of factors/reasons involved. The main basis is probably because + some people are not happy with their own lives so they pick and choose certain celebrities to follow. + At the same time, a subsequent factor could be because + The media has become a distraction to everyone with the news about the lives of famous people.
