A

Margaret River - Dry Mediterranean climate. Known for Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay. Key producers collectively known as the “first five” are Leeuwin Estate, Cullen, Cape Mentelle, Vasse Felix, Moss Wood.

Geographe - Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz. 1,030 ha. Key producers: Capel Vale and Willow Bridge Estate.

Blackwood Valley - Planted In 1976. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon lead. Key producer: Blackwood Crest.

Manjimup - Planted in 1987 (Yanmah Ridge). Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay. Key producers: Peos Estate and Yanmah Ridge.

Pemberton - Sauvignon Blancs among states best. Chardonnay and Semillon also show well. Key producers: Salitage and Picardy.

Great Southern - First plantings in 1965 at Pearse Vineyard at Forest Hill.

Great Southern Subregions: Denmark, Albany, Porongurup, Frankland River, Mount Barker
