A
L4/L5 or L5/S1 level

what causes spondylolisthesis?
A
developmental defect or a recurrent stress fracture of the posterior elements which fails to heal

when does spondylolisthesis normally present and why?
A
adolescence
increased body weight and sporting activity

how does spondylolisthesis present?
A
low back pain
may have radiculopathy with severe slippage
may have paradoxical “flat back” due to muscle spasm and can present acutely with waddling gait

how is spondylolisthesis treated?
A
minor slippage = rest and physiotherapy
major = stabilization and possibly reduction
