- hypercoagulable state
- increase in platelets & fibrinogen
- reduced natural anti-coagulants
- increase in fibrinolysis

Prophylaxis & Treatment?
A
Rx- LMWH
Prophylaxis:
- ted stockings
- encourage mobility
- LMWH if risk factors present
