Carcinoma spread from the cervix
Primary Squamous cell carcinomas associated with high risk HPVs
How does double vagina develop and what is it associated with?
Failure of the Müllerian ducts to fuse and associated with double uterus
What is vaginal adenosis and how does it present?
Small patches of residual glandular epithelium that may persist into adult life.
Red, granular areas that standout from normal pink mucosa. It’s columnar instead of squamous.
What is the premalignant lesion for vaginal squamous cell carcinoma?
Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia
Where do lower vaginal lesions metastasize to and where to upper vaginal lesions metastasize to?
Upper: iliac nodes
Lower: inguinal nodes
What does an embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma present like?
Polyploid mass protruding from the vagina that looks grape like.
On histo, what do these guys’ nuclei look like?
Tennis rackets.
What age group do we find embryonal rhabdos in?
Children 5 and younger.
