A
- most common pelvic tumor in developed countries
- 5x more prevalent than cervical cancer

Etiology of uterine cancer
A
Endometrial carcinoma:
1. endometriod: hyperestrogenism, obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus
2. serous: endometrial atrophy with agressive postmenopausal bleeding

Histology of uterine cancer
A
- abnormally arranged endometrial gland
- serous: psammoma bodies
- G-grading: 1-3
- FIGO classification

Symptoms of uterine cancer
A
abnormal/postmenopausal uterine bleeding

Diagnosis of uterine cancer
A
- hysteoscopy
- MRI (mymetrium and pelvic lymph nodes)
- CT (paraaortic)

Radiation therapy for uterine cancer
A
- postoperative radiation therapy is most common
- vaginal brachytherapy for G3
- preop. RT for poor diagnosis
- definitive RT

Surgical therapy for uterine cancer
A
- surgery is most important
- ovaries may be spared but fallopian tubes must be resected

Pharmacological therapy for uterine cancer
A
- surgery first
- if disseminated: neadjuvant chemotherapy
- if inoperable: progesterone
- targeted immunotherapy
