- RT
- chronic lymphoedema
- HSV (Kaposi sarcoma)

- fibroblastic
- myogenic
- periciter
- vascular
- nerve sheath
- GI stromal tumor

Symptoms of soft tissue cancer
A
- palpable lump
- characteristically >5cm
- painful
- grows rapidly
- below superficial fascia

Diagnosis of soft tissue tumors
A
imaging: CT, MRI, FDG-PET, US
- 65% extremity and torso
- 15% retroperitoneal
- 10% head and neck

Radiation therapy for soft tissue cancer
A
- to spare limbs
- pre- or post-op.
- IMRT
- brachytherapy
- Ewing’s sarcoma + rhabdomiyosarcoma are radiosensitive

Surgical therapy for soft tissue cancer
A
- aim is R0 resection
- limb sparing surgery
- postop. chemo is often combined

Pharmacological therapy for soft tissue cancer
A
monotherapy:
- doxorubicin
- ifosfamide
combined therapy:
- CYVADIC scheme
- MAID scheme
- VIP (vepesin, ifosfamide, cisplatin)
- angiosarcoma: taxanes + gemcitabine
- leiomyosarcomas: gemcitabine (second/third line chemo: dacarbazine)
- brain/uterine: temzolomide
- peripheral nerve sheath tumors: etoposide + carboplatin
