A

a. Manifestations: Frequent and scanty urination with burning and stabbing pain, dark yellow urine, distending sensation and pain in the lower abdomen
b. T: red tongue with yellow greasy coat
c. P: soft and rapid
d. Treatment principle: Clear away heat, drain dampness and promoting urination
e. Acupoint selection: BL28, REN3, SP9, SP6, SJ5

Stone stranguria

A

a. Manifestations: Urine often complicated with stones, difficult urination, interruption of urination, pain or colic in the lower abdomen, lumbar and urethra, yellow turbid urine or urine with blood; red tongue, thin yellow coating, wiry and rapid pulse.
b. Treatment principle: Clear heat, promote urination and remove stones

A

b. Excessive case: difficult and dribbling urination, fullness and pain of the lower abdomen; thin white tongue coating, deep and wiry pulse.

Blood stranguria

A

a. Manifestations:
i. Excessive case: Difficulty in urination with stabbing and burning pain; dark yellow or red urine sometimes complicated with blood clots; yellow tongue coating, slippery and rapid pulse.
ii. Deficient case: Difficulty in urination with dull pain, pink urine; pinkish tongue, thready and rapid pulse.
b. Treatment principle:
i. Excessive: Clear heat to promote urination, remove heat from blood to stop bleeding
ii. Deficient: Nourish yin and remove heat, restore qi to arrest bleeding
c. Acupoint selection: BL28, REN3, SP9
i. Excessive: SP6, SP10
ii. Deficient: SP6, SP10, BL17

Grease stranguria

A

a. Manifestations:
i. Excessive case: Turbid milky urine, cotton- like sediment with fatty oily substances at the surface of the urine, or complicated with coagulate of blood, painful, difficult and burning sensation in the urinary tract, red tongue with yellowish and greasy coating, soft and rapid pulse.
ii. Deficient case: lasting illness with repeated attack, turbid fatty oily substances in the urine; lessened difficulty and pain in urination, dizziness, lacking strength, soreness in loins and knees, pale tongue with greasy coating, thready and weak pulse.
b. Treatment principle:
i. Excessive: Remove heat to promote urination, separate essence from turbid substance
ii. Deficient: Tonify Kidney
c. Acupoint selection: BL28, REN3, SP9
i. Excessive: ST28, REN9
ii. Deficient: BL23, KI6
