general description of frozen shoulder
Frozen Shoulder is characterized by a limited range of motion on one or both side of shoulders, aching and tender pain in different degrees. The pain can radiate to the arms and upper back. It often occurs in people who are over 50 years old, women more than men.

Deficiency of meridians, wind and cold invading
a. Manifestations: Shoulder soreness or tender pain, may radiate to neck and upper arm, worse at night and better during the day, pain aggravated by cold and decreased by warmth, aversion to wind and cold, limited movement, painful with lifting, outward rotation and back extending, thin white tongue coating, tight pulse.
b. Treatment principle: dispel wind and cold, warm and dredge meridians
c. Acupoint selection: LI15, SJ14, SI9, GB21, LI4, GB20

a. Manifestations: Chronic onset shoulder pain; sore and weak, limited movement, muscle atrophy and tendon spasm
