Q

What do effective readers do

A

Effective readers access and evaluate the evidence in a literary text because they know they may need to explain their reasoning to another person. They also know that not every implied detail is strong enough to support an inference. So, they cite specific evidence by quoting or paraphrasing from the text to explain the reasoning behind their inferences.
