LIMITATIONS FOR PREGNANT SERVICE WOMEN
- EXEMPT FROM PT
- EXEMPT FROM PRT DURING AND 6 mo POST
- STANDING AT PARADE REST OR ATTENTION >15MIN
- ROUTINE IMMS, EXCEPT FLU, (TETANUS, DIPHTHERIA AND PERTUSSIS (Tdap))
- weapons training
- 0.5 REM of ionizing radiation through entire gestation
after three months of pregnancy of 28 weeks, service member shall be allowed
- to rest every 20 minutes q 4 hours
- limited 40 hour workweek over 7 days to include watch standing
pregnant service members are eligible for over seas transfer if
- not reached 28 weeks
- adequate OB available
- not intend to place infant for adoption
- housing available
pregnant service members are eligible for CONUS transfer if
- without restriction (no flight after 28 weeks)
contact COMNAVPERSCOM if
- transferring to CONUS operational command immediately
- non-op shore CMD, if PRD w/in 12 MO for PRD extension
pregnant service members onboard ship
- continue til 20th week, while in port or short underways
- can not be reassigned to ship until 12 mo postpartum
- if deployed transfer immediately
- AS LONG AS MEDEVAC IS LESS THAN 6 HOURS
how long is convalescent leave granted by members CO
12 weeks
after separation, pregnant service women are eligible for care if
- 6 weeks following delivery, not during pregnancy
- against law for Mil 3rd party to pay for civilian maternity care
breast feeding requirements
-private separate room w/ ready access to running water
-a separate toilet space is unacceptable
physically breast feeding case by case. unacceptable for excessive meal breaks

- GUIDANCE ON WORK RESTRICTIONS AND JOB UTILIZATION
- MONITOR HEALTH
- NAVMED P-117, FOR LIGHT DUTY STATUS
IS TERMINATION OF PREGNANCY ALLOWED?
YES. ON MEMBERS $. UNLESS TO SAVE MOTHERS LIFE. SUBSEQUENT TREATMENT WILL BE TREATED AS ANY OTHER ILLNESS OR DISABILITY
