A Trophic Cascade is when you have a predator controlling the distribution of resources causing many indirect effects.
What is the difference between a food web and a trophic cascade?
A food web shows just the relationship between each organism and who eats who, while a trophic cascade shows the direct and indirect affects also.
What kind of organisms would be in the first level of a food web?
The only organisms that would be in the first level would be the producers. These are organisms that make their own food.
What kind of organisms would be in the second level of a food web?
The organisms on the second level would be organisms that eat the producers. These organisms are herbivores because they eat the producers.
What kind of organisms would be in the third level of a food web?
Organism in the third level eat the second level organisms which means they eat meat, but they can also eat plants too.
