What is the definition of metabolism?
All chemical reactions of life
What is the definition of Anabolic?
Making larger molecules out of smaller ones.
What is the definition of Catabolic?
Breaking down larger molecules into smaller ones.
What is the definition of Exergonic?
Reactions that release more energy then they require
What is the definition of Endergonic?
Reactions that require more energy then they release.
What is the definition of Hydroysis?
When a polymer is broken down into smaller pieces or its seperate monomers.
What is the definition of Synthesis?
When smaller pieces or monomers come together to form something larger. Water is a product.
What is the ATP cycle?
The ATP cycle is where ATP is converted to ADP through an exergonic reaction and loses a Phosphate group. It is then converted back to ATP through a endergonic reaction and re-attactes its phosphate group.
What do the graphs for Endergonic and exergonic reactions look like?
Endergonic reactions start with low energy for their reactants and then gain a bunch for their products because it requires more. Exergonic reactions on the other hand start with a lot of energy for their reactants and then release a lot which brings the amount of energy for the products down.

Which parts of the ATP cycle correlate with the vocab terms?
From ATP, a catabolic reaction is used to remove a phosphate group. Then it uses all the energy released in the Exergonic reaction to form another phosphate group, which then forms ATP through anabolic reactions.
Give an example of an exergonic reaction linked with an endergonic reaction.
An example of an exergonic an endergonic reaction linked is when glucose is broken down which then fuels the ATP cycle and that fuels amino acids to be made into proteins.
Why must the reactions occur from exergonic to endergonic?
Exergonic reactions provide the energy that endergonic reactions need to function.
