What are Non Vascular plants?
Simplest type of plants that grow on land they don’t have stems or leaves.The roots anchor the plant to the ground.
What are Vascular plants?
Plants with roots, stems, and leaves
What are Fibrous roots?
Are thin branching roots that grow close to the surface.Grass and trees
Tap roots
Are thick and strong roots that grow deep in the soil some plants use taproots to store food. Carrots, beets
What are stems?
They are structures that have tubes to carry water sugar and minerals to different parts of the plant. Stems support the plant some are Woody and some are soft and green
What are leaves?
Parts of the plant that use sunlight to produce sugar for food they’re all different sizes and shapes.
What is chlorophyll?
It makes leaves green. It captures energy from the sun and helps make sugar
What is germination?
The process when a small root and stems begin to grow out of the seed.
For example: a seed sprouts
What is pollination?
The process of pollen moving from a male plant part to a female plant part.
For example: When pollen falls on a flowers pistil
What is fertilization?
The process of a sperm and an egg cell joining together.
What is photosynthesis?
How plants use energy from the sun to change carbon dioxide and water into Sugar and oxygen
This process takes place in the leaves.
