Ancient people looked for patterns in the sky to help them figure out when to plant, harvest crops, when to hold festivals, or religious ceremonies

It meant something bad was going to happen.

Ancient people built structures to keep track of their observations in the sky.

Built in Mexico about 700 years ago

What could the telescope do?
The telescope could GATHER MORE LIGHT THAN THE EYE and ALLOWED YOU TO SEE OBJECTS THAT WERE TOO FAINT to see with your eye alone.
