What is Good?
That which is considered morally right, beneficial and to
our advantage
Example – helping someone carry shopping bags
What is Evil?
That which is considered extremely immoral, wicked and wrong
Example – murdering someone
What is Forgiveness?
To grant pardon for a wrongdoing; to give up resentment
and the desire to seek revenge against a wrongdoer
Example – Jesus taught forgiveness when he died on the
cross “Forgive them for they know not what they have done’’
What is Free Will?
The ability to make choices voluntarily and independently. The belief that nothing is predetermined
Example – God gave humans the ability to choose to do right or wrong
What is Justice?
Fairness; where everyone has equal provisions and opportunity
Example – a killer is punished for murdering by being sent
to prison, this is justice
What is Morality?
Principles and standards determining which actions are right or wrong
Example – there is absolute and relative morality
What is Punishment?
A penalty given to someone for a crime or wrong they have done
Example – prison is a type of punishment
What is Sin?
Deliberate immoral action, breaking a religious or moral law
Example – “thou shall not commit adultery”
What is Suffering?
Pain or distress caused by injury, illness or loss. Suffering can be physical/ psychological or spiritual
Example – Some people believe God cannot exist because
there is so much suffering in the world
