What is a positive correlation?

As one co-variable increases, the other co-variable also increases.

A
As one co-variable increases, the other co-variable decreases.

A
No definite trend that the two co-variables do not appear to be related to each other.

How can you obtain data for correlational analysis?
A
When carrying out correlation analysis, psychologists could be using either form of primary (direct) or secondary (pre-existing) data.

What is a correlation co-efficient?
A
Plus sign (e.g. +0.58) = a positive correlation Minus sign (e.g. -0.72) = negative correlation 0 (e.g. +0.12, or -0.17) = no correlation
