Q

How is Chi-Square calculated?

A

Find ‘Observed Frequency’ (fo), find out ‘Expected Frequency’ (fe) (row x column / total), calculate difference between fo and fe (fo - fe), square difference (fo-fe^2), divide by expected frequency (fo-fe^2 / fe). Repeat for each cell. Add up (fo-fe^2 / fe) column to get calculated value of x^2. Calculate degrees of freedom (number of rows - 1) x (number of columns -1) ‘Spearman’s and Chi must be high, all the rest must be lower’.
