Ulna Osteology Flashcards
Trochlear Notch
Bifurcated notch on the proximal, anterior side of the ulna. Articulates directly with the humerus and rotates in the trochlea of the humerus.
Coronoid Process
Protrusion located directly anterior to the trochlear notch. On the proximal portion of the ulna. Site of attachment for the brachialis.
Radial Notch
Located laterally to the coronoid process. Articulates directly with the radial head.
Ulnar Tuberosity
Depression located on the anterior side of the ulna just distally to the coronoid process.
Olecranon Process
The most proximal portion of the ulna. Sits posterior to the articulation of the trochlear notch.
Styloid Process
Small protrusion on the distal and posterior aspect of the ulna.
Head
Surface on the most distal aspect of the ulna that articulates directly with the carpal bones.
