Frontal Bone

A

Bone covering the frontal lobe of the brain. Runs on anterior portion of skull and is bordered by the sphenoid bilaterally and also by the coronal suture posteriorly.

Frontal Sinus

A

Sinus located beneath the frontal bone. Located bilaterally inferior to the supraorbital ridge of the frontal bone

parietal bones

A

Bones located bilaterally on the lateral portion of the skill. Bones are bordered by the coronal suture anteriorly, the squamosal suture laterally, and the lambdoidal sutures posteriorly

A

Bone located on posterior portion of the skill. Bordered by the lamboid suture on the superior edge and by the occipitomastoid suture on the later aspects.

A

Largest opening on the inferior surface of the skull. Located within the occipital bone.

Occipital Condyles

A

Two protuberances located near the foramen magnum. The condyles are bilateral and located anterior to the foramen magnum with a space between them.

External occipital protuberance

A

A protuberance located on the most posterior aspect of the occipital bone. It is located on the midline of the body.

A

located near the occipital condyles bilaterally near the foramen magnum. These canals allow passage of the hypoglossal nerve.
