behaviour
an observable and measurable action
Drives
a state of arousal or discomfort triggered by a person’s psychological and or physiological needs
- primary: directly around survival
- secondary: learned through conditioning or in association with a primary drive
drive reduction theory
the idea that the primary motivation behind all human behaviour is reduce these drivers
incentives
stimuli that motivate behaviour although they don’t directly relate to biological needs
intrinsic motivation
motivated by internal goals
intrinsic motivation
motivated by internal goals (something personally rewarding)
extrinsic motivation
motivated by external goals (you want to earn a reward or avoid punishment)
