Trigger - Dysrhythmias 2 Flashcards
varied p wave morphology with a rate between 50-180
ectopic atrial arrhythmias
treated with:
1. BB and non DHP CCB
2. if refractory: 1C or class III
atrial tachycardia
alsofor medication therapy in prevention of recurrent PSVT
if a person has had afib for 7 months, what stage are they in?
long standing persistent (>1 year)
risk factors include: HTN, CHF, Age, CAD, Valvular HD
Afib
underlying heart disease with which dysrhythmia is known to cause hypotension
afib
this dysrhythmia can lead to cardiomyopathy, hypotension and development of thrombi
afib
can use CCB, BB, or digoxin as first line for this dysrhythmia
afib (these are for rate control)
you would also use a med for rhythm such as:
amiodarone, dronedarone, flecainide, propafenon, sotalol, dofetilide
you would also use a medication for anticoag such as:
aspirin, warfarin, LMWH, ELIQUIS, pradaxa, savaysa.
which rate medication would you avoid for a patient who has afib with a history of heart failure
CCB
which rate medication would you avoid for a patient who has afib with a history of asthma or has bronchospasms
BBs
which rate medication would you avoid for a patient who has afib with a history of kidney failure
Digoxin
your patient has afib and their past medical history is free of any heart disease, what possible medications could you give them?
1st line: dronedarone, flecainide, propafenone, sotalol
2nd line: amiodarone, dofetilide, catheter ablation
your patient has afib and their past medical history includes hypertension with no LVH, what possible medications could you give them?
1st line: dronedarone, flecainide, propafenone, sotalol
2nd line: amiodarone, dofetilide, catheter ablation
your patient has afib and their past medical history includes hypertension with LVH, what possible medications could you give them?
1st line: amiodarone
2nd line: caridac ablation
your patient has afib and their past medical history includes CAD, what possible medications could you give them?
1st line: dofetilide, dronedarone, sotalol
2nd line: amiodarone or cath ablation
when would you use coumadin/warfarin in afib
if you had valvular afib
