Results from inadequate caregiving environments in early childhood and encompasses a distinct pattern of a child who is emotionally withdrawn and inhibited. The symptom picture may lead to controlling, aggressive, or delinquent behaviors; trouble relating to peers; other problems
Reactive attachment disorder (RAD)
A disorder of a child’s social relatedness and the central feature is that the child has experienced serious neglect or pathogenic care (such as severe parental neglect, abuse, or mishandling) very early in life
Disinhibited social engagement disorder (DSED)
Sitting as if frozen
Frozen watchfulness
An anxiety disorder that develops in reaction to physical injury or severe mental or emotional distress, such as military combat, violent assault, natural disaster, or other life-threatening events.
Post-traumatic stress disorder
The symptom picture of this disorder looks a lot like PTSD but the only difference is the emphasis on the severe reaction some people have within the first month immediately following a trauma. There is also a greater emphasis on dissociative symptoms
Acute Stress Disorder (ASD)
A disorder that differs from PTSD in that it is short-term, and symptoms usually resolve within 6 months after the stressor or its consequences have ended
