Track Safety: Rule 915 HRV Flashcards
For HRV’s what movements and authorities must be applied at Automatic Signalling areas?
- All Hi Rail vehicle and trolley movements must be authorised by Train Control/ Signaller who controls that area.
- Blocking (Rule 908) must be used to protect the movement.
For Interlocked Stations all HRV and trolley movements must be given what authority by Signaller?
- Blocking (Rule 908) must be used to protect the movement.
- The Signaller must route lock the route authorised for travelling movements, by clearing subsequent signals in the direction of travel.
Conflicting Track Occupancies before granting conflicting track occupancies TC/Signaller must? (5)
- advise the HRV / Trolley Driver or Rail Protection Officer requesting the new occupancy of the conflict.
- confirm that the Driver has a safe working arrangement in place with the RPO to permit travel through the common occupancy area,
- RPO has a safe working arrangement in place with the Driver to permit travel through the common occupancy area.
- apply double blocking to the conflicting area (where available), and
- authorise the HRV / Trolley movement or Track Occupancy
When authorising conflicting occupancies what should the second occupancy arrange for movements?
HRV / Trolley’s intending to travel through a conflicting occupancy must not be included as additional vehicles on the Mis.71 for the first occupancy. The second occupancy must arrange a safe working arrangement and complete their own track call
When a track occupancy request is received for a lube truck, what authorities are required for what kind of track sections?
- completely clear of rail movements.
- Lube trucks cannot be authorised following trains / HRV’s
What HRV authorities must be met after a grease run? (dont know how to word this one soz)
- Train Control is advised that the grease truck has deliberately not greased a
planned work area (this will normally be communicated between the grease truck
operator and section Ganger), or - The HiRail movement is necessary for an inspection for safety purposes (heat or weather inspections) or urgent faults (broken rails).
Verification Procedure of last clearing rail vehicles must occur by either:
- Automatic Signalling Panels
- Observing all track circuits are clear within the on-tracking
location when within station limits of an interlocked station, - Observing all track circuits are clear between adjacent stations for any continuously detected block section,
- Where the on-tracking location is in dark territory or non-continuously detected section
- Obtaining verbal advice and confirmation of a train’s position
from the Operator that is confirm arrived at or clear of the next station and Intermediate Boards.
When the conflicting Rail Vehicle is a train what Authority is required?
before granting any
track occupancy authority Train Control must verify that the last
train’s position to ensure that it has past clear of the Intermediate
Board (IB) / Section of line or arrived at the Platform clear of the
on tracking location.
