What must TC do before granting any track occupancy?

• TC must verify the last trains position to ensure that it has past clear of the intermediate board, section of line or arrived at the platform clear of the on tracking location.

What are the 3 points of verification that must occur to ensure the last train position?

Answer 2

Automatic signalling panels

• Observing all track circuits are clear within the on-tracking location when within the station limits of an interlocked station.
• Observing all track circuits are clear between adjacent stations for any continuously detected block section.
• When the on-tracking location is in dark territory or non-continuously detected sections - obtaining verbal advice and confirmation of a trains position from the operator that is confirm arrived at or clear of the next station and clear of the next intermediate boards.

On ASR single or multi line and station limits, where must trains be clear of?

Answer 3

• ASR Single Line - Confirm arrived at or clear of station.
• ASR Multi Line - Confirm arrived at or clear of next interlocked station or passenger platform.
• Station Limits - Clear of any fixed controlled signal clear of the on-tracking location.
