What must the RPO and Signaller do when protection for an obstruction is near a controlled signal?
A
- RPO - Must communicate with the signaller and arrange for the signals to be help at stop to prevent confusion.
- Signaller - Must apply blocking to the signals being held at stop until advised by the RPO that the line is clear and safe for traffic to proceed.

What must a signaller do when clearing a controlled signal at STOP?
A
- When a signaller is required to operate a signal held at stop, approval for the movement must first be obtained from the RPO to ensure there will be no conflicting movements.
- After each movement the blocking procedure for the signal must be reinstated.

What are the 2 instances that allow the reduction in distance for the safety buffer zone?

- The CSB is placed at a controlled signal on the main line that will be held at stop then the safety buffer zone can be reduced as low as the stand overlap of 150m
- The CSB is placed at a controlled signal on a 25km/h loop or yard that will be held at stop
