Activated charcoal
-needs to be offered within 2 hours, give via NGT.
- NOT for alcohols, acid, alkali, metals
Whole bowel irrigation –> indication iron, lithium, lead, body-packers
NOT gastric lavage or induced emesis
What are some drugs and their antidotes
What is a toxic dose of paracetamol
200mg/kg or 10g whichever is less is absolutely toxic. but even 4mg
Mechanism of paracetamol toxicity
worried about QT prolongation
Diazepam equivalent
Risk of serotonin toxicity- opioids and antidepressants
