What is the inguinal channel?
In males: Passageway for spermatic cord (inside tunica vaginalis) with nerves and vessels. It goes towards scrotum to reach testicles.
In females: Vaginal process which contains just a little amount of fatty tissue.
What does the canalis inguinalis consist of?
An inner and outer opening between muscles:
Anulus inguinalis superficialis (spf. inguinal ring)
Anulus inguinalis profundus (deep inguinal ring)
The space between this muscles: Spatium inguinale

Bordered by crus mediale (or lamina abdominalis) and crus laterale (lamina pelvina) from m.obliquus externus abdominis

Bordered by rostral: m. obliquus internus abdominis, caudal: inguinal ligament, medial: m.rectus abdominis
