TO overview Flashcards
TO tests for:
Tumor origin
What are we looking for?
The RNA expression profile only. We can only do this is we run xT.
What are we doing here?
Taking the expressions of the patient’s RNA in the tumor and comparing it to 68 different cancer subtypes. However, to report this out, we need at least one of the cancer types to be 35% or greater.
Do we need the normal match with this?
No.
Describe what a CUP/TUO is and why there is an unmet need in it?
to determine clinical trial therapies and chemo options. Avoid the most aggressive chemo treatment.
What are some examples of clinical reasons a clinician may want to order TO?
1) They don’t know for sure about the patient’s cancer and want to confirm before prescribing a certain drug.
2) When there are rare cancer types that don’t have great therapeutic options.
what are the different sections reporting on the cancer sub-types in a Tempus TO report?
1) 35% of higher= predicted diganosis
2) 11-35% = lower diagnostic probibility
3) 3-11% = cannot exclude
4) Any others on the list within range.
