What is CAR T-cell therapy?

A

A way to get immune cells called “T cells” to fight cancer by changing them in the lab so that they can find and destroy the cancer cells. It’s known as a type of cell-based gene therapy because it alters the genes in the T-cell to help them attack cancer.
