Overview of xT Flashcards
1
Q
Why do we cople the test with RNA?
A
So we can get the full transcript. Get a bigger picture of what’s going on.
2
Q
How many genes are on the incidental germline panel?
A
65 and they are all part of the DNA sequence already. 65 out of 648 total.
3
Q
What are all of these genes linked to?
A
Hereditary cancer
4
Q
when would follow-up testing be recommended if an incidental germline variant is detected and what would that involve?
A
xG , validated germline test
5
Q
Difference between “incidental” germline finding and “true” germline finding
A
- True Gfinding is when you run the xG test. Finding by a validated test.
- Incidental, means that you were sequencing the tumor and while we were looking at the normal match, we found a germline finding.
