this is when the abdominal muscles continue anteriorly to form a sheet like connective tissue

with the rectus sheath there is another abdominal wall muscle Called the rectus abdominis

the vertical lines are the mid clavicular lines
the top horizontal line is the subcostal
- the bottom horizontal line is the transtuberculuar region
where does the subcostal plane pass
it passes through the inferior border of the 10th costal cartilage on each side
where does the transubercular plane pass
it passes through the iliac tubercles
what are the lines called in the 4 quadrant region
vertical is called the median plane
horizontal is called the transumbilical plane as it passes through the umbilicus
