What was the Council of the North?
Based in York and oversaw defence and governance of Northern counties. Headed by Northumberland and then Surrey.
What was governing in Ireland like?
In theory he was Lord of Ireland. Only realistically controlled the Pale - 50 miles around Ireland.
Law was passed in 1494 to allow Henry to call parliament but still had to rely on Kildare and Anglo-Irish lords.
How was Wales governed?
Prince Arthur was Prince of Wales.
Jasper Tudor governed waled and from 1493 Council of Wales revived.
What was the chamber?
Part of the Kings Household and centre of finance from 1487. Privy Chamber handled King’s private finance.

Seven times
How did he maintain law and order?
JP’s and Sheriffs
Who travelled with Henry and why?
The Royal Court. Was elegant and opulent and demonstrated his power.
