Lumpiness in one of both, pain/tenderm hormone related

What is Fat Necrosis?
Trauma to breast resulting in haemorrhage and necrosis
What about Fat Necrosis mimics cancer?
Hard lump
What is Mastitis?
Inflammatory condition - red, tender, hot
Blocked ducts, encourage breastfeeding
What is a risk factor of Mastitis?
Smoking
What are the two benign tumours?
Fibroadenoma, papiloma
What is the three malignant tumours?
Ductal carcinoma, lobular carcinoma, Paget’s disease
How do you diagnose?
Clinical impression, radiology, cytology
What is Papilloma?
Wart like growths, bleeding/discharge from nipple, benign
What is Fibroadenoma?
Rubbery lumps, reproductive age, can increase in pregnancy
What are the risks factors for breast cancer?
Age, height, oestrogen, lifestyle
What are the 5 clinical presentations of breast cancer?
Lump, dimpling, colour/texture, pulling, discharge
What is the treatment for breast cancer?
Surgery, chemo/radio, hormone therapy
What are the four types of surgery?
Lumpectomy, wide exicion, mastectomy, lymph node
