The duke of parma who was supposed to command a fleet from the netherlands didn’t control any deep sea ports which large war ships needed meaning he had to use smaller ships that would take 48 jours to load and set sail

It took a week to even communicate with Parma and Medina Sidonia meaning by the time the message got to Parma that they were in the channel,the Englisha nd Spanish were already battling in Calais
