How does it happen
Usually spontaneous
Can occur with trauma/athletic activity
Congenital abnormality that predisposes to torsion
Bell clapper deformity
Symptoms of testicular torsion
Extreme pain in testis Nausea + vomiting Hot, swollen, tender testis Testis is high + fixed and lies transversely ABSCENT CRESMASTERIC REFLEX
Treatment of testicular torsion
Manually/surgically reduce the torsion
Orchidectomy if necrotic
Fixation of affected + contralateral side with non-absorbable sutures

7-14

Less pain than spermatic cord torsion
