Difference between PHYSIOlogical and PATHOlogical.
A
Physiological = caused by something malfunctioning inside the body.
Pathological = caused by a health condition.

What is a differential diagnosis?
A
A list of possible conditions that could cause your symptoms. This is not the official diagnosis but a step towards an accurate diagnosis.

With “differential diagnosis” in mind, what steps would be involved in a basic diagnostic process?
A
- Ask Q’s about pt symptoms,
- Look at pt PHX,
- Physical exam of pt,
- Create differential diagnosis,
- Additional tests ordered,
- Review test results and symptoms,
- Make diagnosis.
