what is it?
A
large vessel vasculitis which overlaps with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR).

what does histology show
A
shows changes that characteristically ‘skips’ certain sections of the affected artery whilst damaging others.

A
typically patient > 60 years old

onset
A
usually rapid onset (e.g. < 1 month)

headache
jaw claudication
tender, palpable temporal alert

aching, morning stiffness in proximal limb muscles (not weakness)

inflammatory markers
