Q
Discuss the suggestion that in increased use technology has improved the sporting performance. ( just the agree section )
A
- Improvement in technology such as qualasis, which allows performers and coaches to analyse and improve technique.
- Improved technology such as carbon fibre bikes, which also improves times.
- This leads to faster times and greater distances. This increases the likelihood of winning and therefore sponsorship
- Improved recovery methods such as foam rollers, which speed up recovery after performers.
- Improved rehab methods e.g. Cryotherapy chambers, which allow athletes to recover and return to training quicker.
- Improved technology such as drug testing which means more drug cheats are caught, which levels the playing field.
- In American football helmets have concussion sensors to measure impact, reducing the risk of long term head injuries.

A
- Increased cost of technology, meaning not everybody can afford it E.g. Qualysis/Carbon Fibre
- Enhanced PED development means that some drugs are undetectable or difficult to detect.
- Improvement of video analysis and media coverage means that there is more scrutiny of players.
