Tech Log Flashcards
If there is no engineering cover downroute and we have a birdstrike what can be done?
Provided there is no damage, smell and no closer than 1 metre to engines, radome, pitot heads, static ports, pack inlets.
Then a ‘FOR INFO’ entry may be made.
If there is no engineering cover downroute and we get a defect that is in the MEL with no maintenance procedure, what can we do?
Call MOC
Enter the fault as a ADD (Acceptable Defered Defect)
Enter action taken, sign off.
If there is no engineering cover downroute and we get a defect that is in the MEL WITH a maintenance procedure, what can we do?
Call MOC.
Usually game over.
However MOC can sometimes guide you through basic maintenance tasks with approval from the duty pilot.
The certificate of release to service needs to be signed by the commander, final column.
This covers you for one sector only so open a new defect on the next page.
What can be done if there is not a part 145 engineer available downroute for a defect? But there is local engineering, type qualified with more than 5 years experience.
With authorisation from moc and the duty pilot a single event authorisation (SEA) can be used for one sector only.
