Performance Flashcards
What is Vmcg ?
Minimum control speed on ground
The speed at which when the critical engine is suddenly made inoperative it is possible to maintain control of the aeroplane. (Within 30ft)
What is Vmca?
Minimum control speed in the air.
The speed at which when the critical engine is suddenly made inoperative it is possible to maintain control of the aeroplane. (Bank angle no more than 5).
Vmca has to be less than 1.2Vs
What is Vmcl?
Minimum control speed during approach and landing.
The speed at which when the critical engine is suddenly made inoperative it is possible to maintain control of the aeroplane.
What is a Vmu?
Min unstick speed
What is VLOF?
The speed at which the aeroplane first becomes airborne .
Lift overcomes weight.
What is V2?
The minimum climb speed that must be reached at a height of 35 feet above the runway surface, in case of an engine failure.
What is VMBE ?
Max brake energy speed.
The speed at which after an accelerate stop the brakes can safely bring the aircraft to a stop by the runway end.
V1<=VMBE
VTire
Max tire speed
195kts
What is screen height dry and wet?
Dry 35ft
Wet 15ft
Screen height is the height at the end of the TOD.
What is:
TORA
TODA
ASDA
TORA - Take off run available
TODA - Take off distance available, TORA plus Clearway.
ASDA - Accelerate Stop Distance Available.
TORA plus Stopway.
How long can we use TOGA for on take off?
2 engines - 5 minutes
1 engine - 10 minutes
What is the aquaplaining formula?
Vaquaplaning (kts)
=
34 √Tire pressure/specific gravity of contaminant
Are reverses assumes for ASD?
Dry, wet , contaminated?
Dry - no
Wet/contaminated - yes
How far away can a take off alternate be?
One hour flight time at the one eng inop cruising speed in still air.
What is Vls?
Lowest selectable speed
=1.23 Vs1g
1.23 x the stall speed in 1g flight
