A

Is a group that represent different FAs and address goals that impact the organization. Self-managed teams are often cross functional. Require the power of multiple functions.

Example: A team consisting of members from marketing, sales, and operations working together on a new product launch.

What is a ad-hoc or Project Team?

A

Formed to fulfill a specific objective that is finite in nature and have a start and an end date. May be cross functional depending on project. Once the goal is achieved the group moves on to something else individually or together.

Example: A team created to develop a new software application within a set timeframe.

A

Is a group who are focused on making improvements to specific business processes or products. They can be made up of additional groups like a cross functional team.

Example: A team dedicated to streamlining the production process in a manufacturing plant.

A

A group who share tasks involved with supporting one functional area of an organization. Can be referred to as departments, work groups, work cells, etc.

A

Composed of members from different locations around the world. Depending on the objective and may be classified as other types of teams like natural or cross functional, etc.

A

Is empowered or authorized to make wide range or majority of decisions about safety, quality, scheduling work, work allocation, goals, standards, equipment and conflict where the responsibilities reside within the team.

Example: A team given the autonomy to set their own goals and methods for achieving them.
