- They are always placed in front of the perfect tense.
- Me he levantado tarde.
- Me he quedado en casa.
- Where are pronouns placed when use perfect tense in Spanish?
- I got up late.
- I stayed at home.
South Americans use the preterit more frequently to refer to the recent past, but still use the perfect tense for this purpose as well (just less frequently)
How is South American Spanish different to peninsular Spanish re situation 3 (recent past)?
