What is the opposite to “la personificación”?
“la cosificación” which consists on viewing human beings as pure objects. In this case the “a” is removed to show that viewed as an object.
Los colonizadores transportaron esclavos desde Africa al Nuevo Mundo… what is this an example of?
“la cosificación”, “Colonists transported slaves from Africa to the New World.”
What is “pronominalización”? Why used?
Substituting the direct object with its pronoun. Same reason as in English, to avoid repeating the direct object
How many direct object pronouns are there for the 3rd person singular and pluran?
Four.

“Un puñetazo” is the direct object because if switch the sentence to a passive sentence THEN the direct object becomes the subject of the sentence ie
Un puñetazo a la puerta fue dado por la mujer
The door was punched by the woman.
How identify an indirect object?
if a statement cannot be switched to a passive sentence because it changes the meaning of the sentence, then we know it is an indirect object.
Why is “A Juan” the indirect object in the sentence … He escrito a Juan
Because if I change the sentence to the passive form ie Juan fue escrito por mí. Juan was not written by me, rather I wrote to Juan therefore Juan is the indirect object
When the direct and indirect object pronouns appear in the same sentence which appears first?
the indirect pronoun is always placed first.
- ¿Me trajiste las notas del examen?
- No, te las traeré mañana.
Which pronoun appears 1st in the 2nd sentence?
The indirect pronoun ie to you.
- Did you bring me the test scores?
- No, I will bring them (to you) tomorrow.
What happens to the indirect object pronouns le, les when they are followed by a third person direct object pronoun (lo, la, los, las)?
le, les become se.
- He escrito una carta urgente a Manuel.
- Se la he escrito
Why the se?
Because the 3rd person indirect object pronoun (le) is followed by the 3rd person direct object (la)
ie (una carta urgente=la; a Manuel=se)
- Mostré las fotos de mis vacaciones a mis amigos. (I showed the pictures of my vacation to my friends.)
- Se las mostré. (I showed them to them.)
Why the se?
Because the 3rd person plural indirect object pronoun (les) is followed by the 3rd person plura; direct object (las)
ie (las fotos de mis vacaciones=las; a mis amigos=se)
