What is the main purpose of the Task Manager? And how can it be accessed?
A
- To provide real time system statistics such as cpu, memory, disk access usage etc.
- There are several ways to access the task manager you can hit Cntrl+alt+del and select task manager or you can hit Cntrl+Shift+Esc to start task manager immediately. Also can be accessed by right clickingin the taskbar and selecting task manager.

Unlike in Windows 7 you no longer will find an applications tab inside of the Task Manager. Where can this info now be found inside of Windows 8/8.1/10?

- This info has been combined with the Processes tab inside the task manager.

What kind of information can be viewed inside the Processes tab inside the task manager?
A
- Interactive an system tray apps as well s background processes.
- Here you can also see the cpu usage of each application and process and choose to terminate/end each process if it is causing any problems with your system.
- Screen is very customizable able to move columns around, add metrics etc.
- Later versions combine all apps, processes, and services into a single tab such as in Windows 8/8.1 and 10. Easy to view and sort data.

What can the performance tab be used for inside the windows task manager?
A
- You can view whats happenig performance wise on your computer. See CPU usage, memory etc
- Provides statistical views( Historical, real time etc)
- Newer versions include CPU, memory, disk, bluetooth, and network info inside the performance tab.
- Not meant to replace performance monitor but provides a basic overview.

What version of Windows doesn’t include Networking type performance info inside the Performance tab? And what can be viewed there?
A
- Windows 7.
- In windows 7 Network performance can be found under it’s own separate tab called “ Networking”
- Can view network utilization, link speeds, and interface connection state.

What can be viewed and controlled inside the users tab of the Task Manager?
A
- Who is connected? What are they doing? Are they active?
- You can select to log a user off, send them a message or disconnect them.
- Note that in Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 you are able to get much more detailed information under the users tab such as separate processes, performance statistics.
