What is required to turn Windows Firewall on or off?

- Requires elevated permissions

If there ever was a situation where you wanted to make sure there were no incoming connections through the firewall onto your network what setting would you use?
A
- Go to the control panel and under Windows Defender Firewall go into the customize settings for each type of Network and under private network settings check the box that says “ Block all incoming connections, including those in the list of allowed apps”

What are some of the exceptions that you can configure for the Windows Firewall( Defender Firewall) ?
A
- You can choose to allow or disallow an app or feature through the windows firewall
- You can choose to block traffic based off the port number
- You can provide Predefined exceptions which provides a list of common exceptions.
- You can also create custom rules within the Firewall as well. To get to the custom rules section of the Windows Firewall you would go to “ Advanced Settings” under Windows Defender Firewall Settings of the Control Panel.
- Once in the advanced settings you can go to inbound rules, outbound rules and configure as needed. Here you can create new rules under categories such as “ Program” “ Port” “ Predefined” or “ Custom”
