- Performs Hourly backups( The past 24 hours)
- Provides daily backups for the past month and also 0 - Weekly backups for all previous months
- Note this rolling backup process continues until you have filled your backup drive and then starts deleting oldest information when the disk is full.

A
- You would use the “Disk Utility”
- Rarely needed( No ongoing maintenance)
- First aid similar to Windows Check Disk.

Q
In macOS what provides centralized updates for both OS and apps?
A
- App Store Application
- Under the Updates tab on the left of the screen
- These updates are performed automatically but you can choose to install manually.
- Note this is also where OS patches will be managed and installed as well. Here you can install and view previous updates.

Q
Because unlike Windows macOS makes it’s driver information and firmware update info hidden what can you use to see a list of view only detailed list of hardware?
A
- The Hardware section of System Information breaks down components under each category.
- Read only data can’t install or manually update drivers or firmware or make changes.( By design)
- This is all taken care of automatically in the background by the OS.

Q
Unlike Windows What does macOS not include with it’s system to make it more secure?
A
- Anti-Virus/ Anti-malware updates
- macOS doesn’t include any AV or AM
- Many 3rd party options from the usual companies however macOS is more secure by it’s nature. So isn’t as necessary as say on a Windows computer. However there are emerging threats so it is a good idea to install a 3rd party AV software and to update the signatures hourly.
